Conditions for new members, withdrawal and exclusion from membership.

CONDITIONS FOR NEW MEMBERS, WITHDRAWAL AND EXCLUSION FROM MEMBERSHIP ON THE BASIS OF THE STATUTES OF LIEPĀJAS BLIND SOCIETY 


• Any individual or legal person who supports the objectives and activities of the association may join the association by submitting a written application, the form of which and the information included shall be determined by the Council.
• The decision to admit an applicant to the Association shall be taken by the Council at its next meeting. The decision taken by the Council must be notified to the member within one week of its adoption.
• In case of a disapproval the applicant may appeal to the council's decision within one month from the day of adoption of the decision. If the council rejects the request of the applicant, the applicant has not been admitted as a Member of the association, and he or she may submit a repeated application not sooner than after the end of the term of the year counting from the day of adoption of the decision.
In case where the Council of the Association decides to accept the applicant as a Member of the Association, the new Member shall pay the membership fee for the whole current year in the amount and in accordance with the procedures specified by the meeting of members.
• A Member may withdraw from the Association at any time, notifying the Board, which shall inform the Council and the meeting of members regarding the withdrawal of the Member during the next meeting.
• A Member may be excluded from the association by a decision of the Council if:
the Member has not paid the members' fees for more than three months after the term specified;
the Member fails to comply with the decisions of the Assembly of Members, the Council and the Management Board;
the Member fails to fulfil his duties and obligations, obstructs or defames the organisation;
a Member shall perform other activities which are contrary to those laid down in these Statutes.
• The case of exclusion of a Member from the association shall be decided by the Council during the next meeting, inviting the Member to give him or her a chance for expressing his or her opinion. The absence of the Member to be excluded shall not constitute an obstacle to the taking of a Council decision.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERS

• Members of the association have the following rights:
to participate in the administration of the association in accordance with the procedures laid down in the articles of association, including to participate in Council meetings without voting rights;
to receive information regarding the activities of the association, including to become acquainted with the protocols, decisions and orders of all institutions of the association;
participate in all events organised by the association, submit proposals regarding the activities of the association, freely express and defend their opinion;
to elect and be elected in leading and control institutions of the association.
• Obligations of members of the association:
to contribute to the the objectives of the association;
to comply with the articles of association of the association and to comply with the decisions of the meeting of members, the Council and the Board;
to pay members' fees by 30th December each year;
prevent conduct that discredites the society.
