Personal consultancy

Zanda Krūmiņa, head of the social inclusion course “Dzīves skola”, accepted people with disabilities who needed assistance in solving various social issues, drawing up submissions and documents, submitting an annual income declaration and settling other living issues for individual consultations. Similarly, as part of the “Palīdzesim cits citam” campaign, it was co-ordinated to attract donations for people who need support to meet basic needs. These are the first results – we helped a woman to get and deliver a refrigerator for food storage.

Tours of Liepāja

After the epidemiological safety rules subsided, we organized outdoor walks for up to 10 people around the city of Liepāja. Here's a glimpse of 9 out of a total of 16 tours that have taken place so far:

March 23rd. We took a walk along the Liepāja dune area
Liepāja dune area is a real treasure and we enjoyed it wholeheartedly on today's sunny walk!
While we were walking we performed breathing exercises, enjoyed the beautiful views where the white sand meets the bushy evergreen pines; there was not even a breeze in the forest fold.
We encourage everyone to take a walk in their spare time along Liepāja's southern dune lane and adjacent forest to enjoy the fresh air and sunny weather properly!

March 26th. Tour of Liepāja
Tourists in their own city. On our route we wound our way through several pearls of Liepāja City.
On the small trip together, we took a look at the Easter-themed downtown, with silhouettes of copper-colored birds, listened to birdsongs and saw the colorful easter eggs. There, on the 1st floor of the shopping centre “Kurzeme”, in the windows of the bar “River” and the Café “Upele”, we looked at the exhibition of the year “Pilsēta. stāsti. emocijas.” by the Photography artists' versions of Liepāja. We went on to Jāņa Street to see the stage actors of Liepāja and the city's 2021 calendar photo exhibition. At the end of the tour, we inspected the facade of the concert hall “Great amber,” explored the 13-metre-long taxi map of Liepāja City and walked the beautiful promenade.

March 31st. A walk through Liepāja's "Juliannas pagalms" and the promenade
We enjoyed the ancient charm of "Juliannas pagalms" and Liepāja's promenade.
Some of the walkers hadn't been around the area for several years, so the amenities, new cafes and cultural sites in "Juliannas pagalms" were a pleasant surprise. We also felt a real atmosphere of antiquity as we walked down the ancient cobblestone, narrow streets and inspected the beautiful red brick harbour spikes and the time-encapsulated Customs House.

April 9th. We went for a walk around Jūrmalas park area
We walked for 8 kilometres and saw so much, from the Mother of wind Monument to the bear figure in Jūrmala Park. This neighborhood continues to flourish - the swan pond, Ancient structures are being renovated on neighbouring Vites Street, “Pūt vējiņi” is being restored, a “Park Pavilion” cafe is being built outside the golf square (instead of the former restaurant “Bang”) and a “Papace” cafe is being built outside the children's Square.

April 13th. We went for a walk around J. Čakste Square and Jūrmala Park
We took a tour of Jāņa Čakstes Square and its lines of poetry as we walked further down to Jūrmalas Park we got a glimpse of the new LMMDV secondary school building. In Jūrmala Park's children's Square, we rocked spring on the swing of the children's Square and ended up listening to top songs of the band's Livi at the Ghost Tree.

April 15th. We looked at buildings given a second chance
With spring, the facades of buildings thrive – the sunshine glazes them. During the walk, we inspected the buildings that were given a second chance:
• The courtyard of the beautifully restored Ms. Hoijers Hotel (House of Peter the 1st). The building is completely different from the facade on the side of Kungu Street - its black wood cladding contrasts with red brick tile roofs. We've heard that by the end of the year, this new interior museum will be complete and waiting for visitors.
• The former municipal services building on Peldu Street 5 has transformed unfamiliar - it has become a modern building with a colour-changing facade, an orderly pavement, car park and affordable environments. Now this building has become the centre of local government institutions – this is where the municipal real estate Office of Liepāja City, the Building Board, the Education Board and the agency Liepāja public Transport are located.

April 23rd. Even in windy weather we didn't stay without a walk
There is no inappropriate weather, just inappropriate clothing! The wind of Liepāja was the main guide for our walk, but a little sunshine warmed us every now and then. And it's not the weather that matters, most importantly there's a good company to get to know the quirks of the city.

April 27th. We went for a walk around Liepāja's Rainis Park
Liepāja's Rainis Park is not as highly regarded among many Lithuanian tourists as Jūrmalas Park, but it is also a wonderful walk.
With each year, the vast area of the park is increasingly being landscaped. Here, walkways stretch in curves, ducks float and snooze in the pond and white liverleaf flowers bloom nearby, there is a well-furnished children's area, as well as various outdoor exercise machines are available to strengthen musculature – we also tried them today. You can enjoy peace and quiet in Rainis Park, even as a sea of cars hurtles along adjacent Brīvibas and Zemnieku Street.

April 29th. A walk along the beach and Jūrmalas Park
One of the rare days when there was almost no wind in Liepāja and we could enjoy a stroll along the beach in peace, see the environmental object “Vēja paviljons”, the unique benches along Jūrmalas Park cycle path, and walk the little and charming streets of Liepāja.
