September walks

06.09.2022

September is over, this month has been adventurous and magnificent for us. In co-operation with Liepāja city local government, we promoted people with functional disorders to establish mutual contact, motivate and dare to engage in improvement of the quality of their life.

In September, we surveyed Liepāja through the eyes of a tourist and encouraged creativity. It's nice to stop at times and appreciate what we've got right next to us, not just when we're somewhere far, far away. This month, not only were we tourists, but we were creative.
The month began with promoting creativity, together creating beautiful autumnal flowers from crepe paper, as September is the first calendar autumn month. Further down our roads we took a look at works made by other artists, in two art galleries in Liepāja, Ludviķis and the garden of Rome. Every art gallery had different kinds of art, each could, of course, find the closest thing to his heart and see more unorthodox artworks.
The month ended for us with a knowledge-rich tour in the printing house of the newspaper Kurzemes vārds. The tour was conducted by Dainis Krasts, the head of the printing company, and during the tour we found out exactly how the newspaper, which we often read in the mornings with coffee, was growing. And we also learned how much work it takes to print the paper.

As you can tell, every walk is special and impressive. It's an opportunity to have a pleasant time off, socialise with other walkers and learn new facts about Liepāja. If a person with disability or seniors has a wish to take part in walks around Liepāja, we invite them to call the project section of society by phone +371 26056026 and apply for their participation.
