Second event of “Draugs, nāc draudzēsimies”- “Labrīt, Bernāti!”
On June 10th, the second “Draugs, nāc draudzēsimies” event, “Labrīt, Bernāti!,” was held this time, in a more unorthodox environment- in Bernāti.
Thank you so much to our guide, teacher, historian Andris Maisiņš as well as the "Bernāti Café" Pavilion for its hospitable reception.
We became acquainted with the curves of history about Liepāja's surroundings and the nearby Bernāti village, about how they've formed, from the iceage to the present day. We got to know Bernāti nature park's flora and fauna.
On the Bernāti nature trails, we measured the pines and learned that a great pine had to be at least 2.50m circumference. We found a magnificent pine of 3.60m in circumference on the edge of the sea dune.
We looked at the Čakste Monument, which is 12m above sea level in the dune.
