Let's work together, promote
From this years April 1st to October 31st, the Liepāja society for the blind will implement the project “NVO fonds” projektu “Informēts un zinošs darbinieks- labs palīgs savam līdzcilvēkam.” financed by the State budget of Latvia. No. 2022.LV/NVOF/MAC/009/42, aimed at strengthening the capacity and performance of employees and volunteers of the Liepāja society for the blind giving valuable development and growth, ensuring quality services. Promoting social responsibility, cooperation and solidarity in society. With project activities it is planned to increase the capacity, motivation of associations and volunteers that responsibly encourage the addression of problems and needs of people with disabilities at State and local government level, to promote public trust in the non-governmental sector.
Several activities will be implemented during the project:
• Updating the website of Liepāja's society for the blind so that every Member, co-operative partner, donor and anyone else can use the page more easily and find information of interest to them.
• Plan to involve in the discussion - “Valsts un pašvaldību atbalsts ilgtspējīgas NVO darbības nodrošināšanai”, state and local government representatives.
• Informative excursions at the social rehabilitation and cognition centre in the rural environment “Dvēseles veldzes dārzs”, in Ziemupe accompanied by a guide. Tours are for people with disabilities, seniors and other interested parties. Accesible to people with disabilities between May and October 2022.
• Excursion offers will be prepared, posters made for training institutions, youth centres, retirement homes, etc. a visit to the social rehabilitation and cognition centre “Dvēseles veldzes dārzs” in Ziemupe. New social accounts and Qr codes for social accounts will be created.
• Seminar - “Covid-19 pandēmijas rezultātā izraisīto mentālo un fizisko seku mazināšana cilvēkiem ar invaliditāti” and “Emocionālā inteliģence kā instruments cilvēku ar invaliditāti sociālai iekļaušanai sabiedrībā.”
•Joint event for employees and volunteers of the Liepaja society for the blind in the social rehabilitation and cognition centre in the rural environment “Dvēseles veldzes dārzs”, in Ziemupe.
• International White walking stick day event.
It is planned to involve employees and volunteers of the Liepaja society for the blind, 41 in total, as well as 853 members of the society of the blind of Liepaja, who will obtain information useful to them to improve their quality of life.
Interested parties are invited to follow up on the current information regarding the progress of the project and opportunities to engage in activities on the association's website on www.redzigaismu.lv and social media accounts – Facebook, Instagram and Draugiem.lv. A review and results of the activities carried out during the project will be presented to members of the association, co-operation partners and mass media this year. October 15th at the International White walking stick day celebration.
